The Vertex Annual Charity Golf Day this year was a huge success, with almost $9 500.00 raised to assist disadvantaged children and their communities in Cambodia. The money raised will go toward an upgrade of the kitchen at Sunshine house. The climate, cooking methods and number of meals produced each week at Sunshine House (approximately 1700) has lead to the need for an extensive refit. They intend to replace sinks, the cracked tiling, splashbacks, reseal existing tiles, improve the bio gas supply for cooking and replace the bench tops with Cambodian stone for sustainable cleanliness. Lesley, Gary & Kim Hewitt came in for a morning tea and were formally given the cheque. It was a very emotional meeting, with them sharing many sad and inspiring stories of their experiences in Cambodia. Thank you to all of the Golf Day participants for an outstanding result.
